McEvoy, Richard T. Painting With Light Procedures For Outside, Large
Area, Night Time Photography. Eastman Kodak Company. Rochester, NY. January,
1990.
Abstract: Painting with light is considered a commercial technique,
but it is also used in forensic photography. It provides clear, evenly lit
photographs for investigators to examine. The painting with light technique
also eliminates glare and unwanted shadows. The effect can be achieved by
using a portable, constant light source, or by using a portable flash. This
article explains the procedure for this technique step by step. It will
take an amateur photographer practice to feel comfortable using this technique.
The article also provides helpful hints to improve the quality of photographs
taken using this technique.
